Meet The Team

Meet head trainers Kevin Schenck and Grace Yeary!

With two very different and unique backgrounds in the equine industry, Grace and Kevin bring a variety of different experiences to the table! Put together, they make up Schenck Show Horses, a facility that offers any number of services from breaking out colts, training young horses, showing opportunities, and lessons for both the Western and Hunt Seat disciplines. Having two trainers that specialize in two different disciplines under one roof gives SSH the unique ability to provide their customers with anything they might need, no matter what discipline they choose!

  • Kevin started SSH in 2016, when his family sold their cattle, and converted the family dairy farm into a horse barn. With only a couple of personal horses, the help of Youtube, and the will to figure it out, Kevin set off to make it in the equine industry. To further the goal of becoming a horse trainer, Kevin attended Cazenovia College as an Equine Business Management Major. Through his four years at Caz, his time on the IHSA Western Team, and numerous assistant training jobs with local reining trainers, Kevin was able to create a program of his own. He has created a methodical process for starting horses and continuing their careers into the show ring, whether that be with him in the Western Pleasure pen or with Grace in the hunter/jumper rings. Kevin has shown in the IHSA, at the USEF level for AHA, and on the local western pleasure circuit. As the head trainer of SSH, Kevin is responsible for breaking out all prospects, no matter the discipline, and for the further training of all the Western horses, specifically for the Western Pleasure! Additionally, Kevin holds his OHSA judging card!

  • Born and raised in Aspen, Colorado, Grace began riding at only 3 years old. She rode all the way through her teenage years, where she then decided to further her career in the equine industry by moving all the way across the country to attend Cazenovia College, also as an Equine Business Management Major. While at Caz, Grace met her now significant other, and business partner, Kevin. After assistant training for her childhood trainer and interning with Olympic Level Event Trainer, Marcia Kulak, Grace joined the SSH team in the fall of 2022. As head instructor, Grace is responsible for teaching all of SSH’s lessons, and providing showing opportunities for clients. She has experience showing on the USEF “A” Circuit, the IHSA, and on the local level as well. Grace has a passion for teaching and training, and a desire to see her students and horses succeed!
